Custom Prayerbook

One of the unique aspects of our approach to a Bar/Bar Mitzvah is the development of a customized siddur (prayer book). The siddur is carefully developed in conjunction with the family so that the service is comfortable and accessible to a wide range of guests and family. Whether for a morning or evening service, this siddur is based on the traditional elements required for each service, but is customized according to the values and traditions of the Bar/Bat Mitzvah’s family.

Our process for developing the siddur starts with a “template” that contains the essential elements of the prayer service, along with other traditional prayers. This template has the prayers in both Hebrew and English, along with phonetic transliterations. Each prayer is treated individually on a separate page, and is identified on the top of each page, followed by a title that describes the general intent of the prayer, along with brief commentary to provide context and history. By giving each prayer a separate page, a customized prayerbook can be created by adding or removing pages, while retaining the integrity of the service. The decision can also be made whether to recite the prayers in English or Hebrew.

Once the final format is set, we produce a print-ready PDF that the family can use to produce the final siddurs. We can recommend a printer, or will work with you planner to get the printing done. The result is a prayerbook that is specially produced just for your Bar/Bat Mitzvah, and will be a keepsake remainder or you, you family, and your guests.
