We have worked with many couples who have wanted a very traditional Jewish wedding. Within Jewish tradition, a wedding is the holiest, most meaningful, and most joyous occasion in a person’s life. The Jewish wedding ceremony, therefore, has been designed to give physical expression to the significance and purpose of marriage. It is filled with ritual, prayers and songs, which guide the wedding couple and their guests through the deep meaning of this day. These rituals symbolize the beauty of the relationship of husband and wife, as well as their obligations to each other.
A traditional Jewish wedding is performed under a chupa (wedding canopy), which is often placed outdoors
Our
approach to traditional Jewish weddings includes all the established
components, along with a personalized message to the couple by the
Rabbi, the public reading of the Ketubah (wedding contract), culminating
in the Sheva Brachot (Seven Blessings), sung in the traditional
Nusach (melody). We are also respectful of different traditions,
and will work with couples and their families to ensure that the
wedding is in keeping with their own traditions.
